Three Questions To Ask Myself
1. Will I give based on REASON or by REVELATION?
REASON: Simply asks, “What can I afford?” It takes no faith to give by reason.
REVELATION: This means I determined my gift by praying, “Lord, what do you want to give through me?” This kind of giving requires faith. The Bible says, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” (Hebrews 11:6)
2. Does this amount really stretch my faith?
“They gave not only what they could afford, they gave even more than they could afford!” (2 Cor. 8:3)
3. Does it show I value my hope of eternal reward
more than material things on earth?
“Use your money to do good… always being ready… By doing this you will be storing up real treasure for yourself in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And you’ll live a fruitful Christian life down here as well.”
